she lies next to him in bed every night
feeling his warmth, his heartbeat so close
love consuming; butterflies deep inside
and for a brief second, her heart palpitates.

his skin, so smooth, so soft against her arm
she rubs his chest, lays her head softly down on him
hearing his soft breathing, gentle heartbeat underneath her head
and for a brief second, she feels the love unconditional.

he strokes her hair, and kisses her forehead
peaceful bliss against her fingertips; unforgetable
laying in complete silence together, consumed by desire
and for a brief second, they intertwine into one.

for a lifetime, they are two hearts that beat as one.
for a lifetime, they are two souls that combined.
for a lifetime, their love consumes them completely.
for a lifetime, they are everything that completes one another.

**dedicated to the one person who makes me whole. the other half of my heart, the one who keeps me going. i love you more than all the stars in the sky, and all the fish in the sea.
