I remember our time spent along the gentle flow of the incoming tides
The nights sky shining off the nights water shining off the nights sky
Much like you and I
The words flowing like an unattended faucet
Finding meaning with no meaning to find
Sharing in the wondrous bliss of why's and how's
And what if's.
I remember the extended gaze of the sunsets' horizon
How if you looked at it just right
The star would lose its glare and barely resemble the beast of noontime Florida sun
How you would point out the folly of knowing full well how much we don't know of the beauty such abyss can bring
Sitting in silence of what will come to be
I remember the sand between my toes
The feeling of each ocean breath in my lungs
The sound of your whispers, plucked by the wind
And strewn across the waters' edge
The cinnamin taste of your lips...
...And I remember looking over
Lost in amazement to find such an empty space
An empty space?
Gone again.
Ashes blown.
Nothing but an empty space.
