music to my ears
was your promise in a composition
a symphony of two
a masterpiece you said
an opus of epic proportion
it would be your life's work
and your grand finale

in compliment of your arrangement
you struck a perfect chord
with the introduction of the violins
in the prelude to every kiss
in demonstration of perfect timing
you knew when to crescendo a movement

harmony and rhythm
the hallmark of your work
began to beat discordant
when you tired of this opus
and misdirected the next movement
in a perfect moment of silence
i heard the pin drop
but the silence lost it's perfection
when it stayed too long
and played too loud

the band took up again
under direction by guilt from the composer
but the silence had ruined the moment
and the players had lost their measure
and when the bell rang
it sounded a hollow
from the hollow rang the truth

on your masterpiece
i offer this critique
you sang falsetto promises
in a voice not truly your own
and some of the lyrics written
are missing from the final composition
the lyrics you penned about forever
were scratched out and written over
and finally erased altogether
a symphony fading in calando to a requiem

Agree with Sir Aleas, but like an old oak, I believe you felled into something grand a while back now:)
