Happy Feet

do you ever wonder why the word
for the bottom of our feet
sounds the same as the word
for the essence of our being

consider babies feet
we all love them
their miniature perfection
tiny toes, in a row
like peas in a pod

do we kiss them
nuzzle and tickle them
because we want
their perfect soles
to know love
to love laughter
to laugh in love
to
be
happy!

afterall...

our feet are the first thing to touch every step we take
shouldn't they be happy feet?
