Tinuviel

Tinuviel's picture Hello, my name is Lydia. I'm nineteen years old and work in a theatre scenery shop at the university. I'm a 'techy' and would prefer to hide in a lighting booth designing rather than act in a production. Needless to say, I'm not a social butterfly but I try not to be a recluse either (how about a shy ladybug instead?) My brainwave patterns are like a fragmented kaleidoscope because I have so many interests. I like various kinds of music such as classic rock, indie, hardcore, metal, industrial, psychobilly, punk, folk rock and a little jazz. My imagination has a tendency to run away with me at times, so I've been writing for several years. Currently I'm working on a vampire trilogy (sorry no sweet Edward Cullens here; I like anti-heroes). I admit I'm more of a story writer than a poet. Yet, every now and then I catch a muse and I do have a deep appreciation for poetry. Some of my favorite poems are:
*Fire and Ice by Robert Frost
*Various Shakespeare Sonnets
*Garden of Love by William Blake
*Courage by Anne Sexton
*Vincent by Tim Burton

Favorite Short Stories:
*The Yellow Wallpaper
*The Tell-Tale Heart
*The Tale of Beren and Luthien

Favorite Books:
*Fahrenheit 411 by Ray Bradbury
*Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? By Phillip K. Dick
*Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins
*1984 by George Orwell
*Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien
*Black Tithe by Holly Black
*Dracula by Bram Stoker

Favorite Plays:
*Macbeth
*Sweeney Todd, Demon Barber of Fleetstreet
*Our Town
*Musical Murders of 1940

Lyrics:
"And though I'll think of you I guess until the day I die. I think I miss you less and less as every day goes by." Sweeney Todd

"Follow my steps into the garden
I am the taste of the forbidden fruit
I am the vision of stars above
I am the symphony of hate and love
I am the perfume of dying flowers
I am the voice of days to come
No regret for the angel I was
I am the rot in the heart of the rose" Neon Synthesis, Eden

"I know the pieces fit
'Cause I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smoldering
Fundamental differing
Pure intention juxtaposed
Will set two lovers' souls in motion
Disintegrating as it goes
Testing our communication
The light that fueled our fire then
Has a burned a hole between us so
We cannot see to reach an end
Crippling our communication" Tool, Schism
