Feel the swift kick and the lock
Of the choke hold
Neither fast nor furious
But precise and unbreakable,
A lanyard of stupidity
From which to hang yourself.
Strangling back the fear,
Gagging on the black
Vinegar of failure
A bitter tincture of
Pain suppression and
Feigned indifference,
Chomping at the bit of defeat,
A toothless ass left untethered
To roam every day
In all the wrong places,
You’re a fucking ant
On the sidewalk,
You’re a squirrel
In the middle of the
Goddamn highway
And every day
You take the hit and
You feel the crush.

I adore this. Speaking of a swift kick, there are times I feel you could use one.
