Strings.
Tied around a throbbing heart
Watch it constrict the blood
It flows ever so slowly
Till it stops.

You have the wooden control
Don’t be gentle
It has seen its share of beatings
Watch it dance
Remember the romance
Of the hearts sweet serenade
And how it whispers your name.

I asked for this
No more
No less
Taking it as it comes
The only way i have known.

Trust in yourself
As i trust in you
You have the way
All that’s left to say (I L O V E Y O U)
Together we shall follow through.

I leave you tonight
I leave your beauty
Your sight
I leave you to ponder
As i lay here and wonder.

About the Future that is to be.

this poem paints the picture of a man leaning against a wall non-chalantly with a yo-yo going up and down, in my mind. but his yo yo isn't a yo yo, its a still beating heart. very well done. great write. ~ta~

There's something about this that is immensely beautiful. It's simple, yet so in depth. Lovely.
