Mistakes multiplied exponentially
in our attempt at communication...

more rapid than the blink of our eyes

not exactly
unrecognized

but often
so immediate

they almost go

unnoticed

until the pain
radiates
into the next day

when anger and hate
hold hands and skip down the sidewalk

like the best of friends

damage sinking in
not quite fast enough to hold up a stop sign

and I'm once again reminded of

all the reasons why

we never began

You sound like someone I know....and something that was felt; and clearly has been felt by you. Well written.

That was a bit of a wild ride, I must admit. Kind of building up and building up until it finally gets to a climax and slows down at the very end of a bit of a right hook. Beautiful.
