The conversation begins
words intertwined
and we find ourselves
in the same predicament of excitement
caught up in the commuication
tornado confusion
of...

polite

I speak-

then-

you speak

and all the listening in between

how kind you were to ask me

making it clear enough so I wouldn't mistake your words for
nervous conversation

"If I come out there,
will it make you more sad when I leave?"

Initially it didn't hit me

the thoughtfulness of your statement

and my answer might not have been totally honest

not by omission
but by lack of immediate comprehension...

and all I keep thinking is
there is no better reason

to take my chances
