I imagine it's similar to many of my recurring dreams,
where my eyes are as heavy,

as a ton of bricks.

While every cell inside me is screaming-

JUST LIFT YOUR EYELIDS

I try to raise my arms,
in attempt to put all,

or one of my fingers on top of them-

and pry them quickly apart.

Limbs equally weighted,
I fall into panic,

wanting only one more wish.

To simply to arise,
and open my eyes.

Remembering nothing,
of everything-

that had happened.

Saddened to the point of sobbing,

suddenly realizing,
it's not just for a moment,

that I'm paralyzed.

and nothing can wake me up,

because I'm dead.
