Effortlessly flowing arbor grain
tattooed by inconsistently faded age-worn stain
its oaken flesh finish scarred
leaving ascending spears splintering
as a forest of shards
though not by sharpened saws sawing
or unnumbered gnarled teeth gnawing
but by half-torn packages strewn
empty remnants as crescent-shaped moons
haphazardly thrown distant
reading Her Pleasure. Persistent
reminder.
