Darkness Descends

Dark is the blood that flows from my veins
Dark are the thoughts that assault my brain
Dark is the song of the requiem viol
Dark is the light that floods my soul

Darkness descends to extinguish the light
that guides me through the cold dark night
Darkness consumes my hopes and dreams
their tattered corpses silently scream

Dark is the blood that flows from my veins
Dark are the thoughts that assault my brain
Dark is the song of the requiem viol
Dark is the light that floods my soul

My life begins to ebb and fade
No defense against this darkness made
Embracing death I now can see
the world beyond will set me free

Dark is the blood that flows from my veins
Dark are the thoughts that assault my brain
Dark is the song of the requiem viol
Dark is the light that floods my soul

No more sorrow, no more pain
No more crying in the rain
Rejection and loneliness now will cease
I have, at last, found my peace
