The rain falls onto his weathered skin
And trickles down his arms
Falling from his wrists
Dripping to the earth
From a space where there are no longer hands.
He fights on
Overcoming
Conquering
But still the tears fall
Mixing with the falling rain.
The phantom feelings
The memories painful
The hurdles ever pressing
The challenges never ending
Handless in a world of hands
An anniversary of loss
Echoing
Existing
Eternally
An anniversary that can never be forgotten.
