So tangled in the search you are
You cannot see what is near but far.
So caught up in the chase and blind
Not sensing with other than preoccupied mind.
So ensnared by an ancient wounding trap
You take it's past injuries as a true map.
As you stride blindly down the trail
Speeding by that which can you never fail.
You stride on at a rapid mad pace
Never hearing or seeing the sobs or its tear streaked face.
As you blindly tread so fast away
It crumbles abandoned into the shadows to forever stay.
