I cast my gaze about and see,
scattered about are shards of me,
that shard is my soul not hurt free
that one there was my heart's key.
I move my foot about and feel,
the crunch of shards beneath my heel,
that one there once was hope's seal,
that shard there was feelings real.
I cast my gaze about and weep,
scattered about my shards, so cheap,
that shard is my heart, broken deep,
that one, my soul, cast into dark sleep.
Shards that no one wants to closely keep.
