Kneeling, I seek to comprehend
the path the recent past does wend.
Kneeling, I seek to understand
the cruelness of fate’s wild hand.
Kneeling, I feel so alone
abandoned, discarded, a dried up old bone.
Kneeling, I stare wildly around
wishing just once for some solid ground.
Kneeling, I bow my head low
and let the moans escape me so.
Kneeling, I reach out a hand
seeking, no solace, nothing left to demand.
Kneeling, empty handed and wet eyed
alone, unheard as for others I cried.
