Fingers gliding oh so light
Across tattooed skin in the night
Caress so tender oh so slight
Not acknowledged in the night.
Fingers hovering so very near
Feeling the resting strength so dear
Senses reaching shifting gear
Not acknowledged while they sear.
Fingers caressing to dispel fright
Tracing patterns in the dark so bright
Giving warmth that is so right
But not acknowledged in the night.
