It was a cloudless, moist night
The prerequisite for a day
In which wind, shades,
Breath and mind are still

Now and then, here and there
An asteroid plunged down from pitch black heaven
Committing suicide
Thus giving us a split of second
Lasting chance
To wish for something petty

You were my desert flower
And I was sand
Stroking your petals with
Gossamer touch
Whilst stars were the only audience

Do you remember?

***

We both knew that
I could have never become the person
We both wanted me to become

Take care

Like an unexpected meet that was faultless, and when the sun-rose and a new day dawned, you felt as though you could never match 'the night that was'

quietly aching and melancholy... the images and feel read easily and flowing for the sadness it held at the end... well done
