Long ago her heart had frozen;
now shielded,
encased in stone.

Yet ,
beating for only itself.
Never contented,
never satisfied,
never quite quenched
of that thirst.

Impermeable to pain,

but also to love...

I heard it's buried beat,
the beat of a heart
so much like my own.

And so I dug
and I drilled;
slowly uncovering
layer after layer.

Secrets,
things long ago hidden

I keep going deeper,
only revealing more
things to love.

Bear no shame,
I love everything
that calls your heart home;

as I do.

I'll continue
unwrapping your heart
because baby,

you don't need these bandages anymore.
