She was the only one
Who kept these waters calm.
Who kept these waves of thought
From engulfing one another.

Well,

Tidal waves preceded
This morning's hurricane.
The tempest was fueled
Not by water, but by pain.

As such,

These clouds will never thin,
Will never fade.
They will rage on,
Raining hail this time...

Because,

Our broken hearts seemed
To fit so well together...
It hurt more than usual
When she reclaimed her half.

Now,

I mourn the echoes...
The second part of this heart beat,
When I could say "I love you" and
Hear it back...

And,

I cried again...

...and again... and again... and again... I wrote this, somewhat, recently. I gotta find a way to cut off the water to that damn sprinkler system.
