I mourn the passing
Of every word that I
Scraped away
And left
Like
Muted mummies
Wrapped in rubber
Bandages
Then brushed aside,
Out of my way.
But never
Out of my mind.
Each of those unspoken words
Meant more to me
Than the corrections made,
The corrections made
To make it mean
More to you.
