In the shade of a lonely tree I laid,
A lonely tree in the midst of a glade.
Watching the clouds that masked the sun,
Drifting, ever so peacefully.
Though I felt sorry for the clouds,
The taunting thoughts again returning.
Oh, how I understood their pain,
How I understood their yearning...
Suspended in the air unseen,
Ever looking down upon the earth.
Those vast nuptial skies between,
Lay over it like an iron veil.
Desire ever building up,
Passion and lust alike.
Living for that momentary connection,
In the moment that lightning strikes.
I left when I noticed reflections,
In those wistful clouds so gray.
I too am drifting and waiting,
Awaiting a foggy day.
