Visions of beauty
Am I alone?
-

I wish others would see
What I find in these women
And give them
What they deserve

How do they miss it?
As though they were
Looking at portraits
With X-ray vision
(Seeing right through the beauty)

They deserve so much more
Than broken hearts
And shattered dreams,
Than emotional pain
And internal screams

They deserve to be loved
They deserve a prince
Who sees them
For the princesses they are
And treats them accordingly

I'm tired of seeing these princesses
Depressed and alone
Their dresses stained
With blood and tears

Cutting or drinking away
Lonely moments
Cutting or drinking away
Painful memories

Can no one see?

Some days
I'm ashamed
To call myself a man

And nothing hurts me more
Than knowing
That I may only save one

I...think neither women nor mean deserve to be worshiped. They're both equally flawed and equally perfect. Putting anyone on a pedestal is only bound to make them fall if they don't stand still enough to keep themselves there for you...

*nor men* I meant. And the piece was beautifully written. I'm just a cynic, according to some people. :) Seriously; don't worship her, just hold her...

This was more of a statement to a few women I know. Though I'm sure there are plenty more out there like them, so I felt the need to write this. Thanks for the comment
