(This will make a hell of a lot more sense if you read the 3rd part of the series prior to reading this, it is a continuation of that piece)
It wasn't until three years
After her suicide
That he realized he was missing something
The newspaper clippings hung above his bed
So that he could cry himself to sleep
Night after night
The brief article on a jumper
Her small black and white image beside it
Flattened his heart
Night
After
Night
It took him three years
To remember that smiling face
To remember
How she used to be the reason
That life was worth while
But he never forgot
What he said to her
The day she died
"I do not love you"
He spent countless nights
With tears running down the barrel
Of a pistol in his mouth
But he couldn't do it
He had a plan to save her
To do his best
To make amends
He spent the remainder of his days
In prayer
*Some time later
In a time
Where time mattered not*
He stood upon the cliff edge
Of a rocky Cliff
The soft sounds of waves crashing below
The scene bathed in orange rays
Of a dawning sun
Just as he remembered it...
He turned from the ocean
And faced his lover
Coming closer wearing a stunned look
"How are we here?"
"I knew what suicide
Meant for your soul.
So I decided to dedicate my life
To reaching heaven."
"But how am I no longer in hell?"
He stepped close to her
Took her hands in his
And stared into those beautiful eyes
He missed so much
"That my love
Is simple...
I knew I could save you.
For my heaven to be perfect,
As is intended,
It only needed you"
A tear came to her eyes
As he said
That he would love her
Forever more
