It spoke to me
In the way it fluttered
When I thought of her
My heart wishing
It had wings
Wishing it could be freed
From it's ribbed cell
It spoke to me in beats
It dreamed of beating wings
It wished to fly
If only for a while
So it could make the journey
That I cannot (yet)
It spoke to me in morse code
In the way it skipped beats
Every time my thoughts embraced her
It told me to ignore
Any obstacles between
Any view the world offered
Of the love not being true
Said the beating of my heart:
"love is love"
So many times have I said it
When I handed my heart the pen
I quote:
"Every time a circumstance
Denying me a new romance
A difference in age
A distance between
Taken by another
Or catches unseen
In a world without circumstances
Which forever I'll pursue
Maybe these forbidden loves
Could in fact be true"
When two are blessed to have
Such a connection as love
Nothing should ever come between
Nothing will ever change
The feeling
Said the beating of my heart:
"Love is love"
Is finding love not
Finding an eternal partner?
These differences
These circumstances
Do not apply to souls
No obstacle stands in the way
Of a love that is true
This time-
This time it will succeed
The momentum found in my will
And in my determination
Unstoppable
I will take her hand
So that we may direct each other
Out of our nightmares
And into our wildest dreams
I will act on the often preached
Ideals for a tomorrow
That never came
I will emerge triumphant
"I will love truly
I will defy
And the world will hear
My battle cry"
Said the beating of my heart:
Love
Is
Love
In no form should it be denied
