"A Philosopher's Curse" by Echoes of Orpheus

Philosophical thoughts
Spiraling ever inwards
Searching the nervous depths
Only to drown

Philosophical thoughts
Always Inconveniently Incoherent
In terms of purpose
In terms of reason

A train of thought
Is still bound to rails
Held within restrictions
Mental capacities

Paradigms can be seen
Though only
Through the distorted lens
Of another

The curse is to seek the unattainable
To search in life
For what is likely found
Only in death

very platonic... according to whom socrates believed we should live as if we were dead... the philosopher longs for death but cannot kill himself; it's part of the tetralogy on the life and death of socrates... I believe the Pheado, have you read? You, my friend, are a seeker. Good luck with that. (check the repeated word in the penultimate stanza)

oops, not so much repeated, my bad... paradigms are most revealing when they shift or are broken... when you finish plato, see thomas kuhn's _The Structure of Scientific Revolution_
