Perverted by the world
Love stands alone
Stranded and forgotten
Her image forever tarnished

Locked herself away
Not wanting to be found
Her reputation
rewritten in lies

Her ears bled with each mention
Of "making love"
Each rap lyric
A new pin in her heart

Her gaurdian angel gone
Cupid on the streets
Begging for change
His bow pawned long ago

He can be seen from time to time
Standing on the street median
Attempting to hitch-hike
Holding a sign that reads
"The past"

As I pass him by
Incapable of helping
He smiles at me
And a tear comes to his eye

He saw in my soul
A glimmer of hope
I want to be one of the few
I want to love
As it was meant to be done

I won't let love shed another tear
Each one that hits the ground
Sends a tremor up my spine
An earthquake all around

I will save her
And hold her in my heart
Have two loves in my life
The woman of my dreams
And the feeling itself

After all
Who doesn't love
Being in love?

I can't watch her cry anymore
No more...
Tears frozen to her face
The world is so cold a place...

I will love truly
I will defy
And the world will hear
My battle cry

Please
Don't let her die

Great write, Seems like you've been hiding from something, or people have mistaken you for what you are, and showed you as something you are not. Great write -Justin
