I look at the clock
I watch that second hand
Like a spear through my heart
Dragging it around in circles
As the minutes pass
I thought myself a patient man
I was wrong...
Before I had nothing
Important to wait for
The clock upstairs
Tolls each hour
The sound plays the drums in my ears
Far too loudly
It deafens me
The soundwaves
Strangle me
Time and time again
I fear I will die
Each time it reaches midnight
Twelve tolls
TWELVE!
Overdone...
My tears flowed at one
My hopes died at three
My heart ached at five
And exploded at seven
The remaining five tolls
Were so unnecessary
Time taunts me
As it does everyone
Making us die
So slowly...
Father time drags me naked
Drags me through the gravel
Each moment dragged out too long
I'm still waiting
Still managing
To discover an eternity
In every second
Waiting for you to return
Again I look at the clock
I watch that second hand
Like a spear through my heart
Dragging it around in circles
As the minutes pass
I'm waiting for you...
