I've felt what you feel
I've seen what you see.
You see the ignorance all around
and ask how this could be...

People are just hypocrites
and cannot see what's real.
If they could see what you can see
they'd know just how you feel..

But they can't, won't, probably never will.
And i do, can, will help you climb this hill..

The road is steep and rough
and progress will be slow.
But that's what makes you tough.
This i surely know...

I know that you can make it through
Know it will take time.
Always know i love you
and care for you as mine...

I'll always try to comfort you
when you have a real hard day.
I will always listen to you
and never turn away...

So feel free to talk to me
when you feel you should.
I'll try my best to comfort you
in every way I could...

(Written to a girlfriend a couple years ago after she overdosed in an attempted suicide and was in a rehab clinic... It's heartfelt and personal between me and her and I was hesitant about putting it on here.)

I'm glad she had someone to look toward when times were rough, and I hope it was enough. Sorry, I wasn't trying to rhyme, it just came out that way. I love the part about always listening and never turning away. That's important. Welcome to DP, and thanks very much for the nice comments.
