Trying to find a way to get on by, I,
Spread open my wings and fly into the sky.
I cross the nation, on permanent vacation.
So many spots on my landscape are full of radiation.
I have never known there was anything more than death.
If I lost that, then I wonder what I would have left?

It'll be a given, sweet oblivion,
I'm a coming for you, to get rid of all my sins, and,
I'm a gunnin'. Mama, I'm a comin'.
I'll be home soon, unless the motor stops runnin'.
Lookin' for something I never knew I saw before.
It's time to open the door...

I'm lover, baby, and a fighter.
You want some, come and get it, I've got the igniter.
Seems I been left, without my knives and my guns.
That's okay, I like gettin' my hands dirty for fun.
Was all overloaded from stealing another's breath.
It was just a little death.

Who sees this other side of me?
Who knows what I'm able to be?
You see, you'll say goodbye to me.
One day, we'll both be free...

Now I find, as I try to unwind,
I'm being followed by a thief trying to stab me in the mind.
If you saw what I saw, you'd have seen what I'd seen.
If you knew what I know, then you'd know what I mean.
I've had more death and sin than most in my past.
Still, I hope to make this last...

I can't stop and I can't sleep,
Even though my blood starts to creep.
The hill I'm climbing is much too steep.
But I push on...

When I'm gone, please rest in peace.
I'll be done fighting this beast.
But for now I'll grit my teeth,
And push on.
