God in Heaven looked upon the Earth and said:
I think it would be better if I left you all for dead
The weariness you bring each other is as a pain inside the head
And none of you have listened to the first ten things I said

I asked you not to kill each other, yet that's what you do
You murder over water, over money, over fuel
You kill each other over stones found buried in the ground
And over which religion that you think is truly sound

You take that which was never yours for reasons that aren't true
And lay blame on each other for the misdeeds that you do
Whenever you have erred you seem to feel the need to lie
And the sins against your kinfolk are enough to make them cry

You routinely break with monogamy, taking others to your bed
You seem to think it only counts if you are truly wed
You cannot see your neighbor's spouse, you also have to touch
And to borrow from then and return when done is not enough

I asked you that you never seek to use my name in vain
Because, my children, you see, I am not the one to blame
I gave you free will so that you would always get to choose
But as a jazz man would say, your choices give me the blues

I told you that you should, at least, on one day have a rest
Because I knew that for you mortality would be a test
Of your patience and your courage, of those things that make you you
And yet you strive to place yourselves inside a mental zoo

When I said that you should not have any gods before me
I thought that you would comprehend what I meant figuratively
I am Allah, I am Yahveh, I am Buddha, I am Hindu
I merely chose many forms in which I did appear to you

I am the One God, yet I am many; I am Satan and The Son
I am none of those things that you worship as if they were The One
The only thing you have that matters in the end is your immortal soul
It is never, ever gold, or power, or control

You have put these things before ME and your worship is untrue
You have no respect for all of the things I've given you
So let us go back, children, back unto the days of old
And restore some purity to all your tainted souls

There was a time, not long ago, wheb what you did was fear ME
Your wickedness I would punish by taking what you held dearly
So now we return to days of old, to fires, to floods and destruction
To earthquakes and to hurricanes and volcanic eruptions

You were better behaved when your Father was more stern
I do not want to give you up, but I want you to learn
Now pay attention this time, children, for this is no game
If you fail to do so this time...

You'll go back from whence you came

i like the idea behind this. and i tend to agree with most of what you have written. however, i'd like to believe that there is more than to the ending.

I'm surprised nobody has commented this yet. I'm very glad I stumbled upon this, I really enjoyed reading this. I felt there were a few lines in which didn't flow with the rest of the piece (ie: But as a jazz man would say, your choices give me the blues). But I still really liked this piece, especially this line "I am the One God, yet I am many; I am Satan and The Son I am none of those things that you worship as if they were The One" Great job
