I used to wonder how she says, that in bed all day you lay
But she says, I understand now, today

She says I didn’t understand before the deep feelings of despair
I never understood that feeling of I really don’t care

But I say, what about back then, when you lay in bed
Not the same she says, finding out my marriage was dead

Now I lay in my bed can’t be bothered going to work I really don’t care
I understand how you laid there in bed even if the cupboard was bare

She says I understand now, now that I don’t care
