I’m so sorry if I drove you away
Was in such a hurry to cheat and to play
A selfish core, wrapped in mystery
Wild ideas I thought of as spirituality

When you were down I looked to the wind
Only saw your faults, on your grief I sinned
Too busy doing we never took time to be
Now your gone and I’m drowning in freedom

If dawn breaks tomorrow and brings yesterday
I’ll find a way to make you stay
Even if it means I have to choke on my pride
I’d give you my eyes to make you my bride

Time is a healer or so they say
But I’ll never forget you or your special way
There’s not much left to really add
Except that I feel real, real bad

So please if you’re out there and really alive
And somehow hear an echo of my song
Take some hope that like life
Our love is long, pray be strong

(drowning in freedom) how the desperation cries out in these few words.
