- I wrote this about 2 years ago. It is one of my rare personal poems...
Now it sounds like, " You’re so darling digging your own grave"
Once it sounded like , “Come and dream with me
Come and lay beside me
Where eyes that hunger cannot see.”
Believe me when I say my mind lies dormant no longer
Buried within the twisting fingers of solace, I awake in familiar arms With bloodied hands I writhe free, though you mean no harm
'' You have been sleeping, dear"
" No, I will not awake"
In the sweat of nightmare I wake, after sleepwalking a fragile time Your eyes penetrate through me, though I remain blind
" You are not well, come stay with me"
" Yours is the poison, not of my hands"
In a pool of tainted memories and broken shards of myself I cascade to the ground
Your voice calls softly to me, though I cringe at the sound
" Have you hurt yourself again? You should not walk so blindly."
" But of course you pushed me. I will do as I please."
" Allow me to guide you along. Do you not trust me?"
" I trust not the hand that has fallen me to guide."
Turning back I see your face burning with pain, what fault is here? " Your callous has caused to fall thrice, you need not turn back." I cascade into the arms I awoke in, ashamed and in regret-filled tears "Please, please forgive me, I trust your hand with my own life."
You stare
In sarcastic care,
Stern
In your words " I believe not your eyes, nor your words. Now walk alone."
My face entombs into your chest, But you fade way, and my face falls to the ground I call out to you, knowing I cannot walk
There is only the echo of my own sound
