I’m somewhere between nowhere and everywhere
it’s a dark corner
where I’m not alone
but so alone
and I wonder whether the next step will make me
or break me

it’s a still night
quiet
full of all the mysteries of life
an empty world defining itself with the reverie of ages
a fertile kiss reaching for the stars
and the wind is dying
and the children sleep

there is a swirling inside of me that walks with heavy footsteps
the footsteps of giants
inside the hollow shell of a dwarf
basking in the shade of a simple day

there is an old man
aching in a room alone
where no song can reach him
where the daylight is filled with thorns
because even his dreams have shadows
and the cover of night is the only place
he finds peace

there is a lost child
wandering the streets alone
streets filled with lions
hunting until dawn

there are worse things than dying
but hardly anyone ever notices
between the nine to five
and the trips to the supermarket
so much is lost
in the routine blasphemy of life

stop and listen
because the sky is still tonight
and I think I’m finally coming home
