wearing your skin
makes my sick heart bubble
with putrid maggots
they squirm as they witness
bitter memories
reliving agony
contemplating despair
I cannot dine from this plate
I dare not
it bares the fruit of fallen lovers
their heads on stakes
their eyes still open
with judgment
with the tears of broken souls
how did you come to find me falling?
how could you look beyond your pain?
do not see me!
keep a blind distance
I bare scars much like yourself
and when I trace the scabs they leave behind
they feel like
unread love letters
written in blood-dried braille
we share the same darkness
under stolen umbrellas
because even this moment
won’t last
you see, dear friend…
we can’t stop time
with broken hearts
each beat will answer
with the wisdom of the grave
divine tiger lily blossom!
budding passion
bringing song
and you and I can chase the sunrise
until every footfall catches dawn
