lucid thoughts with a swagger meant for gods
pouncing madly in delight
seizing every crescent moon
to claim them from a sky of starry fates
i clutched the sun
with smoldering fists of flaming splendor
i held it close to my lips
to drink in each ray until i was its vessel
and through me the light of the world
shone with a wondrous glory
that shook the darkness
until the stars wept with bliss
i sought the grandest sights
with eyes like buttons of a dream
my words were silent shadows
caressing every footfall in the light
this world of shrilling voices
that cooed in the distance carved my path
and so…
i galloped on avian horses
each hoof stroked clouds
of worldly grief
but still i came
and once again
i tasted earth and woke
to find these words:
my dream of you
