Take me back to the days when you made me laugh so hard my bladder was defeated by humour.
Heading todays proceedings is a little evening I refer to as "pmsl"
you were 13, and me 14, it began at the train station, eleven cones - in seven stops(brilliant effort), if it were not for the conservative couple mid carriage notifying the rail authority , we wouldn't have had to hitch the last six miles.
100 metres in to the hike we had a lift, when they pulled in to the gas station and you went in to get munchies is a moment i'll always treasure, watching you through the neon light lit space, dealing with the attendant, your eyes a-glow - with a chesire cat smirk only broken by random bouts of laughter for no reason inparticular, then walking str8 in to the person behind you....from 50 yards I knew that was going to happen(I wished it), and like a sport you didn't disapoint, but not even I could have imagined what wicked delight you were about to grant.....as you exited the store your direction was mis-cued,.... head down-trying to mask your inconsolable smile, and as you hopped into the car, i'll never forget the look on both the drivers face and yours.....
as reality kicked in that you had got into the wrong car, I don't know who got the bigger fright, you or the chap in the front....
But I do know who pissed them self that night, and for that I love you.
Nine years later I lost you in a car accident, and when I heard,
I got stoned,
road the rail, got off at the exact same station,
and hitched to the gas station.
As I sat there waiting for a cab to take me home,
I wanted you to know that you gave me the funniest care free moment of my life, and for that I also love you..........cya mate

so pure... so life, as adam put it.. it's the nakedness of this that makes it so evocative. So sad... the swing from hilarious teenage antics... the capture of personality... to early adult tragedy and mourning. there is a general loss of youth expressed here, too that appeals universally... I can imagine myself retracing certain steps where life making moments occurred; I can feel the pain. thank you!

I started this with a smile b/c I miss the mischievous mind of a kid but then it felt like I had been kicked...crushing.

Wow, I usually don't comment on things like this. I never know what to say; but this is hard, this is you, this is life. Sad, true, well written.
