It’s been so long since I’ve written…
I just can’t seem to find the words anymore,
I’ve gone and lost my voice in the pursuit of Life.
Please bear with me; I wish I could express
My love for her.


Why do you love me?
I ask you as I hold you in my arms
And you look up,
A strange look on your blossom-face.
“Because you’re wonderful.”
I almost want to cry.

I wish I could believe you,
My beautiful muse-
There is something so perfect
About every angle of your being,
Inside and out,
Some wounded beauty that I cannot describe.

You are Perfection and Beauty and Love
As only the Ancients have ever been-
You are not that kind of beauty
That is made and sold, commercialized-
You glow from every orifice…
And I long to have you like that, lying with me, always.

Why do you love me?
I see the photos of your friends, of all your suitors
And I know they make you smile
When all I ever did was make you cry,
And bring to you more pain
To bruise your battered heart.

I am not beautiful like them,
Not funny, nor graceful-
I move with selfish motives
And I am slave to Wrath and Envy.
I am plagued with spite and insecurity
And I am incomplete and unripe.

I don’t know why you love me,
Why you insist that I, little nothing me,
Am what makes you whole again,
Why you take me into you and make me soar,
But I thank God and Goddess and lucky stars alike
For those moments when I feel the warmth of your loving smile.
