There's more to the apocalypse than the end of times,
There's lines of starving soccer mom's whose children have distented limbs from iron defficiencies,
Wailing into the blackened sky mourning the loss fo their tans.

When the food goes out,
They'll pack me in a camp declaring me an enemy of the state because I wanted some Fritos,
Parcel out water when reservoirs dry up,
Then tell us of new work opportunities and all it requires is a physical examination to make sure we don't have gout,
Then there's the spam,
You never know what it is untill you find the earring in your tin.

There's nuclear aftermath where no sun reaches the ground,
There's disintegrating infrastructures,
There's millions of coastal deaths from flash floods,
There's cockroaches as the top predator,
There's genocidal white supremacists ducking in apartment complexes from the sulphuric acid rain,
There's two drug addicts left in a mall parking lot looking for a dealer but only hearing silence and a slow snow of ash,
There's two minutes of roaring insanity as the flame ball envelops the horizon,
There's the heat from the other side of the earth
The ground won't stop screaming with earthquakes,
There's molten lava erupting from fault lines faults,
and there's silence,

A constant silence interrupted by a loud cascading boom as entire countries are shred apart by the impact,
And for minutes millions of people will scream at once,
The earth will curse,
Sanctifying it's destruction.

Total silence,
when it's over,
There'll be a few huming insects in caves on the polar oppositte of the earth,
nothing but white noise,
motion of the wind: atmospheric incidences,
Weather channel set for eternity,
The rush of snow past drifts with nothing to see it,
Only insects and amoeba.
Only one cell.
Only one thought.
nothing.
nothing.
nothing.
for billions of years.

damn..there goes the neighborhood! such a disquieting piece...there is something profound and pure when we all scream in unison, like we've all joined the choir of the church of extinction.
