I am the tarnished silver locket
you keep in your heart shaped box.
The one you used to wear proudly
upon your skin, resting on your chest.

But those days have now passed.
Scratched and worn from passionate nights,
glamorous dates, and devistating fights;
so into your box I was placed-
forevermore to remain a prisoner,

until that one glorious day
you finally pawn me off
for a shiney new locket
for your heart-shaped box.
