There's much to be said for beauty
When the world seems to disagree
What is beautiful today
Is disgusting tomorrow
What is beautiful tomorrow
Is sickly today

Beauty trapped the canvas
This portrait of my mind
The likened sense
Of quickening tongues
Drawing out sonnets of my flesh

The world turns slowly
Processes of stupidity crawl

My heart slams on the brakes
Depreciation values soar
On wings of opinion
Turn. Adjust. Lower your standards.

Aesthetics has a fine nimble brush
Slender and sensuous
Painting it's glorious streaks ever lower
Ever lower...
Tragedy strikes lazy minds
When odes to perfection
Are never sought

The most profound are indeed often in the narrowest of recognition. Much enjoyed

Artistic pursuits of what is beautiful. I hold that nothing is without flaw, and it is perfect because of the flaws. Great work. I adore the topic. *Bows humbly*

Beauty is distorted depending on the time and culture. I love the last stanza; it knocked me to ponder for a good minute. I will come back to this when I am not a tired idiot :)
