 though you were my fortune
you were inside me and yet
you have broken me into a million pieces
letting my juices stain your skin

i grip your clothes too tightly
you brush me off like lint
maybe its time for a change

"You brush me of like lint/Maybe it's time for a change". Very powerful lines, although perhaps only to those who can relate... it's easier to judge from the sidelines. Very beautiful.

"... you were inside me and yet" ... the short break there, is a masters work, in the way the meaning hit the reader. I think this poem one of the best of the many I have read on this site on love, by far. And far from simple. -Nadir-

At times I go days without finding a poem like this, and searching for it. This is why I keep searching, this is what makes my hands shake when I leave a comment. This is what makes me feel like I am choking writing you this.

The title is not liked by me however, but the poem is devine. In a few lines it got what few can obtain. It is classic, while still being totaly unique. Full admiration. -Nadir-
