When I look into your eyes
It's hard to explain what I see
The beauty that is held within
The pain that's keeping you from being free

So much has happened in so few years
This world is not a nice place
Everywhere you turn
Someone slaps you in the face

You have to teach yourself
To overlook or ignore the pain
Even your own family
Left scars that forever remain

The world will keep spinning
No matter what we do
Somehow we all make it
Somehow we all pull through

We all die someday
The end is sooner than we know
Scars of the past remain forever, but
Someday they won't have such a bright glow

Wow, really great! This poem came at the right time, family issues just inforced pain on me again yesterday. Thanx! Also, it speaks of the truth we all wish to hide: death is inevitable! great job...

This is very beauitfully-stated. I really like the way the last stanza presents a glimmer of hope.
