God’s lips to your ear
Will you listen if I tell you
What you want to hear
And when I’m through

Strip life in a search
From a hunger so deep
A smiling crow perched
On dreams without sleep

That hour’s come now
Flakes of real and not
Both freak and foul
Embrace the lot

The trail to end
Make all a widow
What began has been
Is done not do

Stand and receive
What is just alone
What death retrieves
Breath and moans
