Darkness holds the answers
upon the dark mantle
in the thick, black air
an angels touch
part the shadow-veil

"look beyond..."
to see a rivers eternal flow
into darkness
there where all ends, all beginnings go...
to merge as one

As does the angels breath
with a fleeting night breeze...

And so, we go...
through myriad forests
where the ancient trees reveal
...no feint ghost of answers
through deep caves
underground places
to find, no hollow whispers;
no sound
...through dreams
through dust-filled pages
turned by night-fingers
...through wakened minds
- the angel wing takes us

...and there, to where
ashes of life fires
long since burnt out
are taken...
up, into the shadowland

Darkness...
cocoons us here
before the veil...
the angel touch still burns
in shadowed tongue,
the whispering breeze speaks our minds...

"we are the lost ones..."

This is probably one of the best pieces I've read yet. Beautiful!

Must have read stanza 2 a dozen times. Moving piece, very thought prokvoing.

this had me drifting languid through a dream of mist and shadows so enticing, the images and feel flowing over imagination and emotions quiet yet strong.... beautiful

*sighs* I love the imagery in this...and those last words...I definitely feel lost these days. ~*Beth*~
