She looked too happy to be sad
Babydoll eyes,
locking tears back into porcelain

Can she sleep with you tonight?

No sexual intentions, I swear
She just needs to be held
{careful, now, don’t break her}
Put your hand here,
      tuck her into arms and blankets

and she cried too much to be okay
pouting lips
hugging tightly to a cigarette
        that she was never allowed to light
{little girls shouldn’t play with matches}

Her skin felt cold,
    as porcelain tends to
and she was lost in the battle
between razor and romance

{Winner takes her soul}

She’s a little cracked
       and worse for wear

but this china-faced pixie doll
is never beyond repair.

{I promise she’ll try harder}

This is quite different to other poems I have read of yours. I loved it in such a different way. It speaks to me so innocently from a childs lips but has the perspective of a woman at the same time. Fantastic write.

Wow--I second all the comments already posted and add a round of applause. This is a very unique, creative, and provocative piece of writing.
