The dreamer’s dream

Of sanity

Slips slowly past the ice

The remains of autumn’s leaves

Stirring rust into the wind

A silent sigh of loneliness

As the night falls in subtle elegance

The horizon lit with sanguine shadows

Of demon lives left sleeping

An icy scream

Against the current

Of the worst nightmare in the night

The world in its darkness

Because I hate you tonight

And the fat full moon

Sleeping sanely in the sky

Shadows of a loaded pistol

Etched into its craters

"Not everyone loves the holiday season

And not everybody lives a good life"

I concluded with a smile.

I love the imagery of the shadow on the seemingly gloating moon. *Wonders if subject will live to see the holidays..or if there will be a blood soaked Luna in a cycle poetically expressed.
