"Garden Gnome" by Narcissa

An angel made of stone
Imitating a garden gnome
For evermore cursed
Reciting a bible verse

Until you...

Unearthed its burial plot
By draining cobalt clots
Gargoyles still exist
Behind lids you persist

....to open

Eyes that never roam
Direct you to its home...
Dispose of that hideous mess
That once filled my chest

....It never worked anyway

You should plant daisies around the gnome to add to his frustration at not being able to reach out and touch them, or smell of their fragrance, or... would those get unearthed too?

Reading again, I've decided I'm a garden gnome, not that it fits this write so much. Stone, set to my course, paint fading, starting to crack around the edges yet still standing stoic and stubborn. The past can't affect a stone... right?

Right...The past is the stone...weathered but always there...and yes daisies...I will plant daisies this year...for the gnome of course. :)

Like a secret garden with a heart beat, and like all that have a heart, also have a past....I got this.

That last stanza hurt to read, but as always... This was well written.
