I was hiding behind the face of dawn
When you ran into the night
I sank into the storm
Shivering I stayed still
You swore you'd search for me
Caressing my cross
I said a prayer
Twisting rosary beads
Chanting your name
Your screams must have been silent
Or you never called...
Perhaps if you turned around
And wipe away your hate filled eyes
I wouldn't be that stranger
That you look right through
As you pass my pew
Knealing at the alter
In a blood soaked cloak
Is it mine?
You whisper one last line
"Our story never ends"
You clasp your hands towards heaven
The sirens beckon
Search lights illuminate stained saints
And your empty stare
As you finish your prayer
Then run right through my fingers
I can't cross without you
So I search and search
Every church
Even in death
Faith can't save me now
